Food Friday: Chopped Liver from You ORT'a Cook

From the collection of Gena Philibert-Ortega
Today's recipes comes from a community cookbook that's probably one of the thickest in my collection. 258 pages with over 300 recipes. Today's cookbook, You Ort'a Cook is most likely dated to the 1970s or 1980s and is from the Women's American Organization for Rehabilitation Through Training.

Below is a history of this organization. You can also read more on  their website. An article found on the Jewish Women's Archive Encyclopedia provides some additional insight.

I love these food tips found in the beginning of the cookbook. Since chopped liver is today's recipe it seem appropriate to provide a tip for how to stretch that chopped liver.

So today's recipe provides you some appetizer options. If you have to have chicken liver it might as well be supreme. If chopped liver isn't your thing than here's a recipe for one of my favorites, Deviled Eggs.
